Conditions of service

Corporate strategies to support the Workplace Agreement

  • an integrated approach to corporate planning to better manage workflows, risks, people, finances;
  • nurturing and strengthening our core organisational capabilities through investment in professional development;
  • utilising the results of a comprehensive staff survey to inform organisational strategy; and
  • delivering competitive pay and conditions to Treasury staff to attract and retain high quality employees.

Remuneration

  • Competitive salary arrangements – 4% increase from the commencement date of the agreement and two further 2.5% increases from 1 July 2012 & 2013
  • Potential for salary advancement twice annually, subject to the outcomes of performance appraisals
  • Broadbanding available between APS 1-4 and APS 5-6 levels based on performance appraisal outcomes and work availability
  • Access to flexible remuneration packaging including for childcare costs

Superannuation

  • PSS accumulation plan (or choice) employer contribution of 15.4%.

Attendance

  • Standard working day of 7 hours 30 minutes within a 7am – 7pm bandwidth
  • Flextime for Australian Public Service (APS) Level 1-6 staff
  • Time off in lieu arrangements for Executive Level staff
  • Overtime payable to APS 1-6 staff after 7pm, on weekends, or after 10 hours continuous duty Monday – Friday. Penalty rates range from 125% to 200%.
  • Time off in lieu of overtime payment available

Leave

  • Twenty days Annual Leave per year accrued monthly
  • Options to cash out annual leave or purchase additional leave
  • Generous Christmas closedown period from lunchtime on Christmas Eve
  • 15 days per year Personal / Carers Leave for ongoing employees
  • 16 weeks Maternity Leave available at full and half pay
  • 10 days paid Parenting Leave for supporting partners
  • Paid Adoption Leave in line with Maternity Leave provisions and 5 days paid Foster Carer's leave
  • Twelve months Sabbatical Leave option
  • One day of leave per year to undertake community orcharity work
  • Broad Miscellaneous Leave category to enhance flexibility

  • Temporary reassignment of duties allowance for reassignments over 4 weeks
  • Overtime meal allowance
  • First Aid allowance
  • Restriction allowance
  • Motor vehicle allowance
  • Provision for reimbursement of family care arrangements which arise from directed travel or work outside the employee's normal pattern of work.

  • $600 per annum lifestyle contribution from 2012
