Segments of the transport and related services industry find it difficult to comply with the current GST law as it relates to the international transportation of goods and certain services associated with the international transport and importation of goods.
The attached consultation paper has been prepared by Treasury to seek feedback on an approach that could be adopted to amend the relevant parts of the GST law to address the compliance difficulties faced by certain segments of the transport industry.
