The Regulation of Point of Sale Vendor Introducers

Persons who assist consumers to apply for credit for the purchase of goods at the point of sale are currently exempted from the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009. The Government is conducting a review of the regulatory oversight of the point of sale credit sector to determine the appropriate level of regulation which should be applied to this sector.

A discussion paper has been released that explores the issues regarding this exemption and outlines a number of options for reform.
