The Government has a broad reform agenda for the not‑for‑profit sector. In the May 2011-12 Budget, the Government announced a number of measures as part of its commitment to drive major reforms in the not-for-profit sector and to deliver smarter regulation, reduce red tape and improve transparency and accountability for the sector.

Commonwealth departments have nominated Compact advocates to further support the relationship with the not‑for‑profit sector. Treasury's Compact advocate is Mr Rob Heferen, Executive Director, Revenue Group.
