Abstract:	On Sunday, 7 February 2010, the Treasurer announced the Government’s intenthorised deposit-taking institutionsion to close the Government Guarantee of Large Deposits and Wholesale Funding (Guarantee Scheme) as available to authorised deposit-taking institutions on 31 March 2010. The Guarantee Scheme was announced by the Prime Minister on Sunday, 12 October 2008. On 24 October 2008, the Treasurer announced further design and operational parameters for the Government's deposit and wholesale funding guarantees. Details on the guarantees can be accessed from the Documents Available section below and from the Government Guarantee Scheme for Large Deposits and Wholesale Funding website.
