Government response to the Senate Economics Committee Report: Crowd-sourced Funding Bill 2016

On 1 December 2016, the Senate referred the provisions of the Corporations Amendment (Crowd-sourced Funding) Bill 2016 to the Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry.

The Senate Committeed tabled its final report on 13 February 2017. The committee's report recommended a review of the legislation after two years and the passage of the Bill. The dissenting report recommended that the restriction of eligibility to public companies be dropped and that the cooling off period be increased to five days.

On 2 February 2018, the Parliament tabled the Government response to these recommendations.
