Requesting Information or Documents

False

A number of requests for information or copies of documents can be dealt with informally and quickly. You can formally request access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) to documents we hold. Alternatively we can give you certain information if you request it through other access arrangements we have set up, as outlined below:

  • The Treasury is able to provide assistance to media organisations and journalists when seeking material for reports about Treasury and its activities. For all media enquiries, please contact Treasury's Communications Unit via email at medialiaison@treasury.gov.au. Treasury media releases can also be retrieved from this website.
  • Current and former employees can obtain access to their employment record under the National Privacy Principles (Principle 6, Access and correction) by emailing the Pay and Conditions Team, People and Organisation Strategy Division. Section 15A of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the Act) requires you to use this procedure before making a request under the Act. You may make a freedom of information request after 30 days if you are not satisfied with our response.
